KRAFT FOODS chooses Lanfranchi Unscrambler for PET bottle line

Lanfranchi S.rl. of Parma Italy, in collaboration with their local partner HBM Plastics & Packaging Technologies, has recently won the tender to supply a PET Bottle Unscrambler to KRAFT FOODS in Port Melbourne.

The 14,500 bottle per hour Salad Dressing line is due to be commissioned in March 2007 and will include the Model L1 STD 20-28 Unscrambler, complete with elevator, as well as an empty bottle Air Rinser from Kompass of Italy (also represented by HBM).

The Unscrambler is manufactured in ‘food grade’ stainless steel and features Lanfranchi’s ‘No Scuffing Technology’ (NST).  This system is based on a unique ‘low relative speed’ design which ensures that the bottles do not suffer from damage during the unscrambling process.

Changeover time for the five different PET bottles to be handled is approximately 17 minutes, using Lanfranchi’s patented fully automated system.

Lanfranchi produce a range of bottle Unscrambling machines for outputs from 5000 bph up to 72,000 bph and have over 1100 Unscrambler installations worldwide.

Kompass manufacture Capping and Corking machines in turret and free-standing versions as well as Air and Liquid Rinsers for empty bottles.
