Krauss Maffei launch new MX650+ Injection Moulding Machine

Krauss Maffei of Munich Germany, a world leader in plastics machinery have announced the release of their new high performance MX 650+ Injection Moulding machine that has been designed to meet the needs of the packaging industry, that require high cavitations and heavy moulds.

The MX 650+ offers injection rates of up to 700 mm/s and can cope with different mould installation heights and heavy weights up to 13,500kg. It attains precise platen parallelism and even clamping force distribution, which form the basis for process reliable production, using large moulds containing a large number of cavities.

“The MX 650+ is the ideal solution for the packaging industry. Multi cavity moulds are primarily used for screw closures and sealing caps, and they require very short cycle times” said Paul Caprio, President of Krauss Maffei (USA).

The MX 650+ has very high plasticizing capacities and an energy saving electric screw drive. The polyolefins used by the packaging

industry produce high melting capacities and uniformly high melt quality at low melting temperatures. The clamping unit is therefore fully employed in the machine and the processor benefits from short cycle times
