Krauss Maffei add two new all-electric Injection Moulding Machines to their range

Krauss Maffei of Munich Germany, a world leader in plastics machinery have announced the release of two new all – electric small injection moulding machines – the EX 200-1400 & the   AX 350-1400. These have been added to the already comprehensive range of small, medium and large machines within the EX & AX ‘all electric’ series.

The EX 200-1400 with a 2,000kN clamping force is a high performance machine designed for the production of precision parts where high shot weights and material throughput in a short cycle time are necessary. The unique Z toggle ensures quick mould movements on the clamp side, while the direct-acting plasticizing and injection drive guarantees maximum process accuracy. The fully enclosed drives and water cooled motor ensure an ultra-clean production environment. The machine also cuts manufacturing costs by up to 25% as the parts can be transferred to sterile packaging immediately after production.

At a recent demonstration, the machine, fitted with a SR 80 side-withdrawal robot was able to produce disposable polystyrene cups in cycle times of 3.5 seconds.

The AX 350-1400, with a 3,500kN optimised double toggle clamp, efficient servo motors and smooth-running mechanical parts can save energy consumption by up to 60%. It is designed for high precision moulding for the electrical, electronics, medical and automotive market sectors.
