Krauss Maffei to feature energy efficiency at FAKUMA Exhibition

The FAKUMA exhibition (October 18 – 22) has evolved into the Mecca of the European plastics industry in the non-“K” years. Located in Friedrichshafen, it’s held at the heart of the European plastics industry and presents world class, comprehensive offerings covering all aspects of injection moulding.

Krauss Maffei of Munich Germany, a world leader in plastics processing machinery will exhibit a range of Injection Moulding technologies that will feature the new energy efficient module called BluePower that can save as much as 50% on the energy consumption of their range of Injection Moulding machinery.

The BluePower approach starts with systematically analyzing every aspect of a specific production situation. Using this data, Krauss Maffei develops a customised solution to boost the energy efficiency of their machinery. Dr Karlheinz Bourdon, the Managing Director of the Injection Moulding Division explains “The custom approach enables us to identify savings potential very accurately so as to achieve the maximum cut in consumption. Energy consumption can be slashed by as much as 50%.”

One of the exhibits, a Krauss Maffei  AX350-1400 (all electric) Injection Moulding machine, the largest in the ‘all electric’ range of 12 models, will be on display producing technical components typical of those found in the automotive industry. An integrated LR-S 150 Linear robot will demould the parts and place them on a conveyor belt.

The BluePower barrel insulation will minimize energy loss and visitors will be able to see how the extensive functions of the BluePower energy analysis which enables operating staff to optimize the machine settings in order to maximise their energy savings.

In total Krauss Maffei will be exhibiting seven Injection moulding systems across the AX, CX and EX model range on their booth and in collaboration with their technology partners.
