Krauss Maffei Extrusion of Munich Germany, a world leader
in plastics machinery, has extended its new range of conical profile
extruders with the low-output KMD 43 K/P. The launch of this machine
completes the lower end of the company’s conical series of extruders.
Like the other systems in the conical series – it is a
strong performer, flexible, requires minimal maintenance, is compact and
has an excellent price/performance ratio. The wide processing window
makes the machine ideal for processing a range of formulations and
profile extrusion applications where lower throughputs are required.
Main features of the KMD43 K/P conical series of extruder
include:-
-
A reliable plasticizing and homogenization
performance achieved due to a redesign of the conventional conical
screw from the feed to the compression zone.
-
Improved heat transfer from the barrel heating
system, resulting in optimal temperature homogeneity across a range
of PVC powder formulations.
-
A longer preheating zone which contributes to a very
stable process and optimal melt homogeneity.
-
An optimized drive unit that has increased throughput
without the need to increase the screw speed, resulting in higher
output of up to 100kg per hour.
-
Flexible temperature control and self-regulating
internal temperature balancing and hardened screw surfaces make it
possible to process a wide range of materials.
-
Compact footprint – including switching cabinet and
the option of a swivel control panel designed for flexible
co-extrusion space saving and piggy back concepts.
-
Low maintenance with air-cooled barrel and AC motor
drive.
