Krauss-Maffei Extrusion

Krauss Maffei to showcase their unique extrusion concepts at NPE

Krauss Maffei Extrusion of Munich Germany, a world leader in plastics machinery will showcase their extrusion concepts for increasing productivity and flexibility and optimization of energy efficiency at the NPE 2012 International Plastics Exhibition in Orlando USA from the 1st – 5th April.

On display will be a KM-RKW 34-250 extruder with an Internal Pipe Cooling (IPC) system The IPC system can produce thick walled P/O pipes ranging from 110mm to 2500mm diameter. The IPC technology shortens the cooling section by up to 40% because it uses ambient air, in addition to conventional external cooling, to cool the pipes from the inside.

A KME 125-36 B/R single screw extruder, with a 36 L/D processing unit will demonstrate cost effective production combined with high specific melt throughputs.

The barrier screw concept guarantees an optimum mixing process and eliminates thermal inhomogeneity, ensuring a top quality end product.

And a XE 60 A UTX twin screw extruder fitted with a EasyClean Module compounding plant will demonstrate up to a 40% reduction in cleaning time during product change over’s. The modular design has dimensions enabling shipment in a standard sea container and offers reduced assembly times, and significantly reduced total construction cost.
