Drossbach’s new Quick-change system for corrugated plastic pipe production

DROSSBACH, a global leader in plastic corrugated pipe machinery have released the new Extended QuickChange system for their HP 250 Corrugator. This is great news for all producers of drainage, cable protection, small dimension waste and rain water pipes.

The system can reduce setup times for mould change by up to 30%, and makes die head handling quicker and easier. The reduced set up time can potentially increase annual pipe production by 200,000 metres, or approximately 170t of HDPE, based on an average annual machine capacity.

At the push of a button, each mould block pair returns into the service position. The stop screws are loosened automatically and the mould can be replaced manually in a user-friendly way. The stop screws are tightened and the new tools are ready for further production processing.

The Drossbach HD 250 is currently the only corrugator available which is equipped with optimised electrical connections between the extruder and die head to ensure quick and reliable head service. The individual plug connections are arranged clearly, and the number has been reduced by half, so that a quick and smooth handling during production breaks is guaranteed
