Krauss Maffei machinery doubles Brazilian pipe processors capacity

Krauss Maffei of Munich Germany, a world leader in plastics machinery has recently installed five new extrusion lines in Corr Plastik Industrial Ltd’s new plant in north east Brazil.

Corr Plastik’s manufacture water, irrigation, telecommunication and drainage pipes and have been working closely with Krauss Maffei since their founding 17 years ago. The new plant which has been built in Rio de Janeiro will double the company’s current production capacity and place them among the three largest PVC pipe producers in Brazil.

Krauss Maffei installed two double strand pipe extrusion lines, which are headed by KMD 75-36/R twin screw extruders and two single strand pipe

extrusion lines, which have KMD 90-36/R performance twin screw extruders. The lines have been configured to produce pipe with an outer diameter from 20mm to 250mm and are capable of producing up to 2,800 tonnes of PVC pipe a month.

An additional extrusion line was installed in January 2010, boosting production at the plant to 3,100 tonnes a month for a line of corrugated pipe, bringing the total monthly pipe output to almost 6,000 tonnes.
